Your personal information is safe with us.

We will not disclose any of your personal information without your consent.

Some Medical Insurance companies require us to disclose to them, the clinical issues we find on examination together with a proposed treatment plan. Only health information that is relevant to the condition for which you are being treated by us will be presented. Further reports may be required if requesting further treatment or if requesting onward referral/ further investigations. With some insurance companies, we may ask you to sign a separate consent form.

If we feel it would be in your interest to involve other healthcare professionals with your care ie GP, nurse, Consultant, other Physiotherapist, we will only do so with your consent.

It is your right to have a copy of any information that we have on you. Should you require a copy of your Physiotherapy notes, just let us know and we will arrange a copy for you. There may be a charge for this service.

Your notes and personal information are stored in a locked filing cabinet when the clinic is unattended. Only professional staff working at the clinic have access to this filing cabinet. All your information, whether verbal or written is treated with the utmost confidentiality.

On discharge from Physiotherapy, your notes are filed away in a locked facility and stored, 8 years for adults and for any child (17yrs and younger), until they reach 25yrs of age. After this time, the notes are securely shredded at a professional facility.

If you think there is a problem with the way we are handling your information, you have the right to complain to the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office).
